Sciences Po's Library

The Sciences Po Library holds the largest collection of social science documentation in Europe.

Consult its catalogue to find books and journals.

The reading rooms on levels 3 and 4 of 27 rue Saint-Guillaume provide open-stack access to all the latest books and journals on sociology, social issues and education.

Many of the journals are accessible online, sometimes for long periods: to access them using Sciences Po’s subscriptions, visit the “Electronic Resources” webpage.

Example: La Revue française de sociologie is available on the database Persee, from 1960 à 2019

For an advanced search, check the databases in the social sciences, which provide references and often the full text of relevant documents.

For example

  • SocIndex, sociology database (nearly 200,000) entries) including links to full-text versions of 398 academic journals, monographs and conference proceedings.
  • IBSS, contains references for a selection of international publications: books, articles and over 2600 journals on economics, political science, sociology and anthropology since 1951.
  • Sage Research Methods online, platform for advanced research, offering tools and a card of methods in social sciences that draws links between methods and theories. SRMO contains over 100,000 pages from books and SAGE reference works.
  • Blackwell Encyclopedia of Sociology Online : sociology reference work. Access to 1800 encyclopaedia entries (from simple definition to analysis of concepts), a chronology and a lexicon.
