Biography
Adam Contu holds a Master's degree in Ecological Transitions from Sciences Po Grenoble and is currently pursuing a PhD in political science at CERI, specializing in international relations, under the supervision of Carola Kloëck and Mélanie Albaret. His thesis focuses on the governance of deep-sea mining beyond national jurisdictions. It focuses in particular on the ongoing diplomatic tensions between states that want to ban this exploitation and those that wish to exploit the raw materials available and likely to meet the needs of the energy transition. He also questions how the environmental issue is (re)configuring, or not, the balance of power and diplomatic practices within these globalized spaces.
