[Roundtable] Politics in the lead-up to the 2024 European parliamentary elections
Roundtable of Strains on democratic representation key theme
Sciences Po, 9 rue de la Chaise, 75007 Paris & via Zoom*
In the run-up to the 2024 European elections nationalism and populism have taken central stage, closely intertwined with critical concerns about minority and civil rights and the preservation of the separation of powers. Will populist parties increase their support? What lies behind their appeal? Do recent developments in European politics suggest a risk of democratic backsliding? This roundtable aims to explore these questions, sparking a critical dialogue on potential futures for Europe.
