Ömer Faruk Metin is Max Planck PhD student in Political Science at Sciences Po Doctoral School. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Bilkent University, Ankara in 2018. Prior to joining CEE, he participated as a research assistant in several projects conducted by UNESCO IIEP, Sciences Po Médialab, and Migration Research Center at Koç University. In June 2020, Ömer received a Master’s degree from Sciences Po, Paris School of International Affairs, where he wrote his master thesis on the measurement of populism with automatized text classification using Facebook posts from Yellow Vests supporters. Ömer’s doctoral research project in Political Science at CEE will explore the relationship between populist support and inequalities in European countries with a particular focus on digital literacy, housing and political participation.
