Martin Herzer

Martin Herzer is a PhD researcher in the Department of History and Civilization at the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy. His research interests are centred on the role of the media in European integration since the 1950s, with a particular focus on ‘Europeanist’ journalists and their efforts to promote European unity. Martin obtained a Master’s degree in Affaires européennes from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris (Sciences Po Paris) in 2013. He was a visiting doctoral student in the Department of International History at the London School of Economics and Political Science during the 2015 Michaelmas Term. He has experience working for German and international media in Europe and the United States.
