Photo de C SchusterDr Christian Schuster is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Public Management in the School of Public Policy at the University College London. In 2016-2017, he is also the Co-Investigator (with Jan Meyer-Sahling) of a £400,000 British Academy – UK Department for International Development (DFID) research project on civil service reform and anti-corruption in Eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Prior to joining UCL, he was the LSE Fellow in Political Science and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), an Economist with the World Bank and a Visiting Research Scholar with the Inter-American Development Bank. He received his PhD in Government from the LSE.

Research interests

Dr Schuster principal research interests lie in bureaucracy, civil service reform, patronage and corruption. Methodologically, he draws on survey experiments with public servants, elite interviews and case comparisons.
