Biography
Nathalie Morel is assistant professor in political science affiliated to the Centre for European Studies and Comparative Politics (CEE) and to the Laboratory for Interdisciplinary Evaluation of Public Policies (LIEPP). Her research interests are in comparative social policy, social investment policy, fiscal welfare, care policies, the political economy of domestic employment and in social innovation. She teaches courses at undergraduate (on the Reims campus) and master’s level (at PSIA) in the field of comparative welfare state studies, as well as a course on social innovation at EAP.
She is co-director of the “Socio-fiscal policies” Research Group at LIEPP since 2014. She is elected board member of the International Sociological Association’s Research Committee 19 (Poverty, social welfare and social policy) and co-opted board member of ESPANET (European social policy analysis network). She is also co-editor of the “Work and welfare in Europe” series at Palgrave.
On January 31, 2023, she successfully defended her Habilitation à diriger des recherches (HDR) in political science, entitled "The politics of fiscal welfare: towards a social division of welfare and labour in France and Sweden".
