Biography

Thomas Laffitte graduated with a master's degree in international relations from the Central European University (CEU) in Vienna, Austria, and worked as a correspondent for the French press from Hungary and Ukraine. He began his thesis in September 2022 under co-supervision between the Center for European Studies and Comparative Politics at Sciences Po (Paris), under the direction of Colin Hay, and the CEU (Vienna), under the supervision of Thomas Fetzer. His research focuses on the emergence of a common European debt during the covid-19 pandemic, and more generally on the recent history of European fiscal integration.
