Biography

Eva Bossuyt holds a Master’s degree in urban governance at the Urban School of Sciences Po Paris, with an emphasis on comparative research methods and the analysis of urban public policies.

After preliminary research on street markets and the thrift economy in Lagos, Nigeria, Eva works now on a thesis in sociology at the CEE and the CNRS about the global circulation of second-hand clothing. Under the direction of Gabriel Feltran, this subject lies at the intersection of urban studies, economic sociology, and waste studies. Research methods on the move, together with a multisided ethnography, seek to reconstitute the value chain of a cloth, from its production to its disposal. This project focuses on socio-economic and environmental issues that arise from the apparel industry and fast fashion.
