Contractual resources

The French National Research Agency is the main donor of public funds, allocated according to competitive calls for projects. An identical process applies to the allocation of European funds, in particular via the European Research Council (ERC). In addition, many research projects are the subject of contracts with national or local public institutions, associations, etc.

Staff (as of 31 December 2021)

At the start of the 2021-2022 academic year, Sciences Po's permanent faculty has 274 members. If political science remains largely dominant, other disciplines have a growing share.

Evolution and feminisation of the permanent faculty

In 2021, women represented a third of the permanent faculty. While this result is still far from parity, there were more women compared to 2019: from 86 to 90. After increasing, their share within the permanent faculty has plateaued over the past two years.
