Work in progress…

Bruno Freyssinet, Theatre director / La Transplanisphere

Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Bruno Freyssinet. I am very happy to see you and to meet you through this video. If you receive and watch this video, it is because you are maybe potentially a partner for a new cooperation project we want to do in Europe called “Polart circle”.

So I am the artistic director of a theater company : “la Transplanisphere”. We are based in Paris, and we are based here in this place called “Carreau du temple”. It is a new place that is rent by Paris City Hall for cultural projects and for events. Here it is a big big room, and there is also a theater there and downstairs there are many rehearsal rooms and offices.

At the company we are dedicated now for five years to develop cooperation projects with other theater teams, theater groups in Europ eand also with NGOs, with also universities, and we are questioning political topics through artistic projects.

Now, with this new project called Polart Circle, we are willing to develop a new cooperation project that would put in perspective different artistic approaches and political approaches. How to questions topics that has an international dimension on stage and through an artistic process.

But maybe let’s talk more about the project itself with the other people working on it. First I want to introduce to you Arthur Navellou that he's operating the camera and that he's also the project coordinator of Polart Circle. And now let’s see this group of students from Sciences Po Paris.

Angele Cossee, Sciences Po University, Paris:

Hey ! we are students from Sciences Po. This is Marie, Deborah and I’m Angele. We are working with Arthur and Bruno on realizing this incredible project.

Deborah Righeti, Sciences Po University, Paris:

So, what’s Polart Circle? Polart Circle is a collaborative project in which the aim is to questioning political issues with theater and we want to involve you to work together and to create this project with us.

Marie Julienne, Sciences Po University, Paris:

So the aim of the project is to create a network of partners throughout Europe willing to work together on this collaborative project.

    Angele Cossee:

So we organize a series of workshops in various cities of Europe.

    Marie Julienne:

And these workshops will allow you to meet, to experiment together and also to establish a methodology. That’s why Polart Circle will also create a MOOC.

    Bruno Freyssinet:

By the way, what’s a MOOC?

Arthur Navellou, Coordinator / La Transplanisphere:

I am the only one to have this answer. A MOOC (for Massive Open Online Course) is a free online education platform, displaying videos, tutorials and classes. These courses will provide a methodology, your methodology, on how to tackle political topics through theater and will follow the courses of the workshops.

    Bruno Freyssinet:

In order to develop this project, we are looking for you as a partner. For example you can be a key partner (coordinator for one EU country), operating in this project in your country, in relation to the other partners.

Or you can be a partner providing only an expertise on a specific aspect of the project. And you can also be a partner (pedagogical partner experiencing the Mooc published through the project) in being the first one or the first ones to experience those MOOCs and those lessons videos to draw your lessons that you will create through this project.

So as you can see there are different ways to be participant to the project, so please read the presentation of the project or fill the form telling us that you are interested and let’s start to discuss about the possible partnership we can develop on Polart Circle.

    Thank you very much.
