





The governing board of the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) approved the appointment of Hervé Crès as interim director.
The board’s decision followed a decree issued by the Chancellor of the Universities of Paris nominating Hervé Crès to the interim position.
Hervé Crès, 44, has served as deputy director of Sciences Po since 2008, and is both vice president for academic affairs and the head of the doctoral school. He attended the Ecole Normale Supérieure from 1987 to 1990, and graduated from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris in 1990. He holds doctorates in applied mathematics from the University of Paris I, and in economics from the Université de Genève.
He embarked on his career as a professor of economics at the University of Pennsylvania from 1994 to 1997, before continuing at HEC (1997-2008) and then moving to Sciences Po, where he has taught and conducted research since 2008.
