Holds degrees in Slavic and East-European studies from the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (INALCO) and in Romanian and French literature from the Babes-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, Romania, as well as a Ph.D. (2002) from Sciences Po for a dissertation on Representations of the Nation in the perspective of Hungarian and Romanian intellectuals. Intellectual and ideological origins. Member of the editorial boards of Balkanologie and Critique internationale. 
Her research in historical sociology and in political science focuses on nationalism, religion and social beliefs in Hungary and Romania.
