Our Ambition
Preparing graduates capable of leading the transformation in both public institutions and private organisations, and providing them with the skills to drive sustainable and innovative change.
Training the next generation of transformation leaders
The Paris Climate School will offer a cutting-edge master’s programme designed to equip students with:
- A systemic and multiscalar understanding of ecological transition and risks,
- Strong professional competencies in law, economics, finance, public policy, and governance,
- Practical decision-making tools adapted to complex, uncertain, real-world environments.
Beyond the classroom, the Paris Climate School will serve as a hub for academic, institutional, and professional exchange on climate action — in the heart of Paris.
A rigourous and groundbreaking academic vision
The Paris Climate School addresses environmental transformation in its broadest scope: climate change, biodiversity loss, natural resources management, environmental justice, global warming, biodiversity, etc.
Grounded in the social sciences and humanities, the Paris Climate School draws on Sciences Po’s singular model:
- A long-standing interdisciplinarity,
- A dialogue with other sciences,
- A focus on political economy and managing transition in our democracies.
It will also be anchored in Sciences Po’s world-class research, offering students a critical, applied, and systemic perspective on the challenges of ecological transformation.
Our Expert Advisors
The Paris Climate School has been shaped through a preliminary mission led by its Dean Laurence Tubiana, CEO of the European Climate Foundation and architect of the Paris Agreement, and Sophie Dubuisson-Quellier, Research Director at Sciences Po Centre for the Sociology of Organisations, who sits on the French High Council on Climate.
This mission brought together 30+ prominent figures from across all sectors such as Valérie Masson Delmotte (IPCC) Sébastien Treyer (IDDRI), Pascal Demurger (MAIF) or Jean Pisani-Ferry (I4CE).

« It is an honour to become the Dean of Sciences Po's Paris Climate School. I am thrilled to launch this new programme, which comes at a pivotal moment for the future of our planet and our societies. Faced with the ecological emergency, it is essential to train a new generation of leaders who can think and act differently. Sciences Po can become a world-class player on climate change by combining academic excellence, interdisciplinarity, and civic engagement. »
