Nicolas Petrosky-Nadeau is a macroeconomist interested in the functioning of labor and credit markets in the presence of trading frictions. His current work focuses on deep recessions with high unemployment, with special attention to the role of housing as collateral for consumer credit in goods markets.

Petrosky-Nadeau is an assistant professor of economics at Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business and currently a National Fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution. His work has generated new knowledge on the interaction of credit and labor markets in determining job creation and business-cycle fluctuations in unemployment. His work has also yielded new insights into the links between the performance of the labor market and the pricing of assets.
