Sciences Po is a partner of PostGenAI@Paris, a major AI Cluster in France
In May 2023, PostGenAI@Paris was selected as the winner of the French National Research Agency's “AI Cluster” call for proposals and was awarded €35 million in funding over five years as part of the France 2030 plan. Coordinated by Sorbonne University, the consortium brings together some 20 academic partners and benefits from the support of 60 industrial partners.
PostGenAI@Paris was developed to respond to the challenges posed by the latest advances in AI, in a world where the boundaries between technology and human intelligence are becoming increasingly blurred. This new era of "post-generative AI" (AI that goes beyond content generation to understand and interact in a more autonomous and contextually appropriate manner with its environment) brings scientific and technological progress, but in return raises deep concerns and questions related to trust, regulation, and the ethics of AI. The cluster covers three main areas: disruptive technologies, health, and resilient societies.
The implementation of the PostGenAI@Paris scientific program is based on two main pillars. The first of these pillars takes the form of several collaborative acceleration programs (PACs), which enable close coordination between research, training, and innovation. These PACs are the cornerstone of the cluster and are directly involved in the development of research-based training, while promoting industrial collaborations on cutting-edge topics. The second pillar of the PostGenAI@Paris cluster is a cross-disciplinary program designed to encourage interconnection between consortium members and ensure the cluster's agility and evolution. PostGenAI@Paris aims to establish itself by 2030 as an international center of excellence, with cross-disciplinary expertise in the field of AI and a robust network of socio-economic collaborations. Through all these actions, the cluster is helping to train the next generation by significantly increasing the number of students trained each year in AI at all levels.
Sciences Po is involved in two collaborative acceleration programs: the first, “AI Normative and Distributive Effects,” and the second, “AI for Augmented Deliberation.”
This project has received government funding managed by the National Research Agency under France 2030, reference ANR-23-IACL-0007.
