À propos de cet événement

Le 22 septembre 2025 de 15:30 à 17:00

The European Forum on U.S. History is a new monthly, hybrid seminar series rotating among institutes in seven European countries. It brings together scholars from diverse backgrounds and career stages to explore innovative research on U.S. history through global and transnational perspectives. The aim is to strengthen cross-border collaboration and foster substantive historiographical exchange at a moment when academic freedom faces increasing challenges.

Our opening session will take place online on Monday, September 22, 2025, from 15:30 to 17:00 CEST. The roundtable, “Decentering the Study of U.S. History – A European Perspective?”, will consider how geographic distance and institutional settings shape inquiry into American history. Panelists from different European countries will discuss methodological approaches, pedagogical challenges, and the perspectives that emerge when studying the United States from European vantage points.
