Professor at the University of Bordeaux (UB, Faculty of Law & Political Science), vice-president of the UB & instructor at Sciences Po Paris. 
As part of a research focused on State, Sébastien-Yves’ three main areas of interest are as follows: the applied role of Social Sciences for Analysis and Strategic Forecasting, the dynamics of armed conflicts and transnational governance and conflict in the Cyberspace.
In partnership with Jean-Pierre Bat, François David, Philippe Hayez and Floran Vadillo, he runs the « METIS, Le renseignement et les sociétés démocratiques » seminar.
