The Centre for History at Sciences Po (Paris, France) is hiring a Full Professor (“Professeur des universités”) in History of Art: Political history of art in the modern era (19th – 21st centuries) Visual history and the history of art have been significant research fields at Sciences Po and especially at Centre for History (CHSP) for more than twenty years. This specialisation has become one of the Centre's strengths. It has encouraged new approaches to modern and contemporary art history through the ‘Arts et Societés’ seminar and its Lettre, as well as the dual master degree with the École du Louvre. More recently, the Sciences Po Maison des Arts et de la Création has promoted an intensive dialogue between the history of art, political history and the humanities and social sciences, and it has inspired the teaching of new courses on images and the visual arts within the various programmes offered by Sciences Po. This position aims to build and expand upon these achievements, at a moment when research, teaching and partnerships in the field are at a critical juncture.
