Victor Louzon

Victor Louzon is a maître de conférences at Sorbonne University, a researcher at the Sirice Joint Research Unit, and a senior researcher on the ERC project “The Global War on Civilians: 1905–1945”. His research focuses primarily on the history of war and political violence in the contemporary Chinese world, with particular attention to interactions between China and the Japanese Empire. He is the author of L’étreinte de la patrie. Sortie de guerre, décolonisation et violence à Taiwan, 1947 (Éditions de l’EHESS, 2023) and Le grand récit chinois. L'invention d'un destin mondial (Tallandier, 2023, paperback edition in 2025), as well as articles in the journal 20&21, the Journal of Asian Studies, Modern China, the Revue du MAUSS, and several contributions to edited volumes.
