Biography
My thesis focuses on the transnational construction of liberalism between the Atlantic revolutions
and the Restoration. The aim of my research is to reconstruct the links between two of the main French political groups, namely the Monarchists, the first supporters of constitutionalism at the dawn of the Revolution, and the Doctrinaires, theorists of parliamentarianism between the Restoration and the July Monarchy, as well as their relationship with the birth of the banking system in France, in order to contribute to studies on the genesis of liberalism. The aim is to reconstruct the thinking and actions of men such as Jean-Joseph Mounier, Camille Jordan, the publicists Jacques Mallet du Pan and Abraham Louis Fauche-Borel, as well as the bankers Jean-Frédéric Perregaux and Hans Konrad Hottinguer, who, united by a solid education rooted in the Enlightenment, personally experienced the Atlantic space and contributed to the globalization of revolutionary and counter-revolutionary ideologies.
