Biography

Marion Fontaine is full professor at the "Centre d'histoire de Sciences Po", after having been a lecturer at Avignon University (2010-2021), director of the Centre Norbert Elias (UMR 8562) and junior fellow of the IUF ("Institut Universitaire de France"). Her most recent research focuses on the history of mining worlds, the history of the crisis of industrial societies and the history of socialism and the labour movement.

At Sciences Po, she leads the workshop on "L'enquête historienne" (2nd year, Paris), and teaches in the field of the 20th century history ("Une histoire des mondes contemporains, XXe-XXIe siècle, 2nd year course).
