Riccardo Abram Correggia

Riccardo Abram Correggia started his PhD at the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa in October 2024, in co-tutelle with Sciences Po Paris, after completing an MA in Global History at Heidelberg Universität and his BA in History between Università degli Studi di Milano La Statale and Bielefeld Universität. His research explores women enlisted in the French and British armies during the Second World War in colonial spaces, focusing on gender, religious, political, social, and ethnic dynamics, and in particular on the encounters between women of different backgrounds within a military framework. He spent his first year in Pisa and the following year as a visiting student at the University of Edinburgh and conducted research in London and Jerusalem, and is now based in Paris under the supervision of Prof. Elissa Mailänder.

Previously, as a researcher at the CDEC Foundation archive, he worked on the first Hashomer Hatzair Italy archive, focusing also on Italian Exiles in Switzerland during World War II, curating the Corinaldi family, Rav. Schaumann, and Selinger-Beilin collections. Finally, he analysed CDEC's involvement in the Bosshammer trial on Nazi crimes in Italy, working on the documentation produced by CDEC and on the recording and translation of survivors' interviews for the trial, and participated in the studies about Jewish migrations from North Africa to Italy after World War II.

He is affiliated with CISE (Centro Interdipartimentale di Studi Ebraici) in Pisa and is a member of the Network for Gender, War and Violence Studies.
