Biography

Piergiorgio Bruno holds a PhD in history. His thesis, entitled ‘Governing through Information. The State and the Industries of Persuasion: A Transnational History (United Kingdom, France and Italy, 1930–1990)”, supervised by Alain Chatriot (CHSP) and Umberto Gentiloni (Sapienza Università di Roma), was defended on 18 February 2026. 

His research focuses on the history of influence practices in the 20th century (public relations and advertising), intersecting with the history of the state and political parties, from a comparative and transnational perspective.
