Where do graduates work? How much do they earn?
The results of the graduate employment survey covering the 2005 to 2025 cohorts have just been published.
With a response rate of 61.6% (648 responses out of 1,052 alumni surveyed from the 2005–2025 graduating classes), the data reveals swift entry into the job market and early exposure to professional opportunities through the Journalism School’s network—often leading to positions as journalists.
Fast-track employment
- 95% of graduates are currently employed
- 71% of the most recent cohort (2025) secured their first job while still in school
Professional opportunities via the Journalism School network
- 38% received job offers while still students
- 21% accepted offers that led directly to newsroom positions upon graduation
Local, national, and international reach
- Among graduates based in France, 20% work in regional areas
- Internationally, many are field reporters working in complex zones: Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Iraq, etc.
Stable contracts
- Most graduates hold stable employment contracts
- Among those working freelance, 64% do so by choice
- 24% have turned down permanent contracts after calculating they earn more as independent journalists
Entrepreneurial ventures
- 5% of graduates have launched their own startup or media company
Rising salaries
- 14% earn over €5,000 gross/month
- 12% earn between €4,000 and €5,000 gross/month
- 22% earn between €3,000 and €4,000 gross/month
- 22% earn between €2,000 and €3,000 gross/month
- 10% earn less than €2,000 gross/mont
- 19% preferred not to disclose their salary
