What is the Cross-Examination Moot?

The Moot is a unique competition that challenges university teams from around the globe to showcase their mastery in international arbitration. Over several rounds, students will engage in intense hearings, cross-examining each other’s witnesses and experts in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Why Participate?

While other arbitration moots teach the fundamentals, the Cross-Examination Moot goes further. This competition is designed to equip the next generation of arbitration practitioners with advanced cross-examination skills – a vital competency often overlooked until late in a lawyer’s career. This is your opportunity to develop and refine these skills early, guided by some of the best minds in the field.

The 2024 Challenge

This year’s mock case revolves around a complex dispute in the life sciences industry involving software coding, intellectual property rights, and allegations of misappropriation. Crafted by experts from the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (AAA/ICDR), Chaffetz Lindsey, and Compass Lexecon, the case promises to be both challenging and enlightening.

Are You Up For The Challenge ?
