Jean Chiche

Jean Chiche holds a PhD in mathematical statistics (Université Pierre et Marie Curie (Paris,1983) and is a former student of the Paris Institute of Statistics (ISUP, 1979). He is a CNRS-affiliated Senior Research Engineer at the CEVIPOF where he also teaches classes on electoral behavior, methodology for specialty data analysis and the measurement of public opinion.
His research covers four main areas: electoral behavior and elections (ecological and territorial analysis), the environment (inequality and environmental justice), methodology (polls, surveys, public opinion) and mathematical statistics (specifically geometric data analysis).
He is a member of the Executive Board of the Earth Policy Centre (a joint Université de Paris/Sciences Po initiative). He is also a committee member and former Chair of the Surveys, Models and Applications Group of the French Statistical Society.
He created and continues to run the MAGDA (Applied Data Analysis Method) seminar which takes place alternatively at the CEVIPOF and Université de Paris. and geometric data analysis workshops. He is a member of the CESP (Centre d’étude des supports de publicité) scientific committee.
