Biography
Théophile Pénigaud is a postdoctoral researcher in political theory at CEVIPOF. He is currently working on the “Democratic Commons” project, funded by the BPI, which aims to develop and openly share a model for evaluating AI political biases.
Dr. Pénigaud holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon. His research focuses on democratic theory, with a particular interest in the history of political thought, democratic innovations, political epistemology, and the political philosophy of AI.
In addition to his appointment at Sciences Po, Théophile is also an external fellow at the Institution for Social and Policy Studies (ISPS) at Yale University, where he spent two years (2023–2025) as an associate research scholar and lecturer.
