Biography

Clémence Nasr holds a PhD in political theory, completed under the joint supervision of the Free University of Brussels and Sciences Po (First signs of a relocalised society. Elements for a social philosophy of short food supply chains).
At the crossroads of political science, social philosophy and environmental theory, her work reflects on the role that territory and the sub-national level can play in the ecological transition and in a critical revival of socialism.
After working for three years at IDDRI (Institute for Sustainable Development and International Relations) on issues related to lifestyles and sustainable food, she joined the University of Liège and the PragmApolis laboratory for a three-year post-doctorate (F.R.S-FNRS). For this research, she intends to continue her reflection on socialism by defining the place and meaning of rural space and territory in socialist thought. This work will be based on an empirical survey conducted in four cantons in the Ardennes, focusing on the quality of life as perceived by residents in a context where their territory is home to economic and productive relocalization initiatives, some of which are ecologically oriented.
