Biography

Jérôme Grand holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Geneva and Sciences Po Paris (CEVIPOF).

His research lies at the intersection of political theory, political sociology and public policy. It focuses on the institutional conditions of democratic citizenship, the role of civil society and voluntary associations, political participation, and the normative foundations of social justice. Combining normative political theory with qualitative empirical research, he examines how public institutions, civil society organizations and collective actors shape citizens' capacities for action.

His current research is organized around three main areas: the political theory of associations and civil society; youth transitions and labour market integration policies; and ageing, civic participation and environmental responsibility in the context of climate change.

His work has been published in journals including Journal of Aging Studies, Ethics and Social Welfare, Frontiers in Climate, Ethics, Politics & Society, the Swiss Journal of Sociology and the Revue interdisciplinaire d'études juridiques. His research adopts an interdisciplinary approach combining political theory, sociology and public policy analysis.
