Biography

Ömer Faruk Gemalmaz is a PhD candidate in Comparative Politics at CEVIPOF – Sciences Po. 

His research explores how conflicts influence voting behavior, with a particular focus on the political consequences of the Russia–Ukraine war in Europe. His work seeks to connect the fields of voting behavior and political conflict through a comparative and predominantly quantitative approach. Prior to beginning his PhD, he earned a master’s degree in Political Science from Sabancı University in 2021 and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from Boğaziçi University in 2018. At Sciences Po, he has worked as a teaching assistant in undergraduate courses on Comparative Politics and Voting Behavior.
