About

For some time now, through conversations and reflections, we have navigated a path through the twists and turns of mediating and promoting research in the humanities and social sciences, searching for ways to make room for an artistic perspective. A path that, through happy twists and unexpected connections, will encourage curiosity and challenge traditional formats for communicating and re-examining research on the international (and how it is conducted). That will lead us to take a reflective look at our profession and our approaches, to speak with others beyond the circle of insiders, to allow methods and epistemologies to breathe and enrich each other.

This seminar/research group has been designed as a space for collective reflection, knowledge, and action. It is also a space for learning and improvisation, because for some of us, this approach goes beyond what we have learned to do previously. It is there, somewhere, but how do we get there? How can we forge a path without getting tangled up in the rhizomes and without getting bogged down? These bi-monthly meetings are designed as creative working sessions, offering a chance for CERI members to share experiences and experiments that link artistic creation and research in a past or current project, and researchers from other universities and disciplines, as well as artists, to present their work.

Programme

Meetings will take place every two months, on Wednesdays between 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The sessions are open to the public, with the exception of the annual closing session, which is reserved primarily for members of the laboratory. Additional, ‘unscheduled’ sessions are added as and when proposals are made. These meetings may take place at times other than the usual meeting times.
