Biography
Marion is a PhD candidate in Political Science (International Relations) working on how non-sovereign substate entities construct international agency within centralised states. Her research focuses on Reunion Island and the security-development-environment nexus in the southwestern Indian Ocean, asking how issue framing operates as a partial, negotiated substitute for the recognition, legitimacy, and access that formal sovereignty would otherwise confer. Working from a rooted interpretivist position, she combines computational text analysis, social network analysis, and qualitative fieldwork.
She holds a Master in Political Science — International Relations from Sciences Po (2025), has completed a research internship on crisis governance, and has conducted preliminary fieldwork in Reunion Island and Mauritius.
