Emmanuel-Pierre Guittet

Emmanuel-Pierre is the founder and director of EXPOL Consulting, a consultancy firm specialising in conflict analysis, training, and the monitoring and evaluation of development aid programmes focused on violence prevention and the strengthening of civil society in complex and conflict-affected environments.

In addition, he is a research associate at the Centre d'Études sur les Conflits, Liberté et Sécurité (CECLS) at the University of Nanterre and at the Centre for the Study of Global Human Movement at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom. Emmanuel-Pierre has also taught international relations theories, security, and terrorism for two decades at Sciences-Po Paris (2000-2006), the University of Montreal (2006-2008), and the University of Manchester (2008-2016). He has been a visiting professor in criminology at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (2017-2018) and in political science at the Université Saint-Louis (2016-2019).

Emmanuel-Pierre is the editor-in-chief of the journal Cultures & Conflits and co-directs the New Approaches to Conflict Analysis series at Manchester University Press, the International Political Sociology series at Routledge, and the Explosive Politics series at Peter Lang in Oxford.

La gouvernementalité par les décombres : Pour une politique des ruines contemporaines. Ce projet explore la notion de "gouvernementalité par les ruines" en analysant comment les régimes libéraux contemporains transforment les espaces de destruction en outils de gouvernance. En se basant sur une approche interdisciplinaire incluant la sociologie politique, la géographie critique, les études mémorielles et les études sur la sécurité, ce projet vise à éclairer les liens complexes entre destruction, mémoire et pouvoir.
