Johannes Lindvall

Johannes Lindvall is a Professor of Political Science at Lund University, Sweden. Before joining Lund University in 2010, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Lincoln College, Oxford (2007–2010) and at the European University Institute in Florence (2006). He received his Ph.D. from the University of Gothenburg in 2004. He was a visiting scholar at Harvard University in 2016 and 2017 and at Sciences Po, Paris in the autumn of 2019.

Johannes Lindvall is the author of Mass Unemployment and the State (Oxford University Press 2010) and Reform Capacity (Oxford University Press in 2017), as well as articles in journals such as American Political Science Review, British Journal of Political Science, Comparative Political Studies, Comparative Politics, European Journal of Political Research, The Journal of Politics, and World Politics.

He is currently working on Inward Conquest, a joint project with Ben Ansell (Oxford) on the expansion of public services in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
