Scholarship programs
The Sciences Po American Foundation works to provide access to a Sciences Po education for students whose talent and promise exceed their financial resources, and fortify Sciences Po’s transatlantic academic connection.
Since its inception, the Foundation has gathered funds from individuals and private foundations to endow the Michel David-Weill Scholarship, the McMillan-Stewart Foundation Scholarship as well as the Henri de Castries Scholarship and the Marion Bruley Grant.
The Foundation also supports ongoing initiatives such as the Joly Family Scholarship , the Longview Scholarship in honor of Jane Pumphrey Nes, as well as the Sciences Po American Foundation Scholarship fund [see infra].
The Sciences Po American Scholarship Fund
Sciences Po's international policy is a key aspect of its institutional strategy. With nearly 480 partnerships on every continent, an extremely diverse student body of around 50% international students, an internationally facing curriculum and world-class social science research, the international policy at Sciences Po is a form of academic diplomacy in action.
Every year, Sciences Po, through the Émile Boutmy Scholarship Program, supports international students eager to study in France.
American students represent the largest nationality among international students and the Émile Boutmy Program plays a central role in their financial aid. Each year, 10% of total global Boutmy spending is designated to support U.S. students.
The Sciences Po American Scholarship Fund contributes to the Émile Boutmy Scholarship Program in support of American students at Sciences Po.

LONGVIEW SCHOLARSHIP IN HONOR OF JANE PUMPHREY NES
Jane Pumphrey Nes, American from Baltimore, MD (United States), was at the same time journalist, historian, avid classical music lover and real estate developer. Her long life in France, shared with the United States from the mid-sixties until her death in 2017, aroused in her a passion to learn and to enrich her knowledge of European life, both in the arts and culture but also in history and in foreign languages.
The Longview Scholarship embodies the values of Jane Pumphrey Nes and gives students of American nationality the opportunity to continue their studies for two years at Sciences Po, in the heart of the capital. The Longview Scholarship carries a monetary value of $55,000 (disbursed in two installments, for two years of study).
The Longview scholarship is intended for students who show a deep interest in France and the French language. It is awarded on the basis of academic merit and financial need criteria, and is subject to the following prerequisites:
- The recipient must be an American citizen;
- The recipient must apply and be admitted to a two-year master program entirely taught at Sciences Po, with the exception of masters at the School of Journalism (not eligible). Dual degrees with partner institutions and executive training courses do not qualify for the scholarship.
- The recipient must do an internship or a professional mission in France or in Europe (except in the UK) for at least two months during his/her master degree at Sciences Po
