2025 US Alumni Award Honoree Alexandra Amouyel

On November 12, 2025, the Sciences Po American Foundation gathered its community for a special evening honoring distinguished alumna Alexandra Amouyel, recipient of the 2025 US Sciences Po Alumni Award. Executive Director Anne Scattolin opened the event, welcoming guests and reaffirming the Foundation’s mission: to strengthen Sciences Po’s alumni network in the United States, support transatlantic programs in scholarships and research, and serve as a vibrant voice for France and European perspectives in the US.

This year’s honoree, Alexandra Amouyel, embodies that spirit through a career defined by innovation, leadership, and impact. As President and CEO of Newman’s Own Foundation, she leads a rare hybrid: a food company whose entire profit is donated to support children facing adversity. Her previous roles as Founding Executive Director of MIT Solve and in leadership positions at the Clinton Global Initiative, Save the Children International, and the Boston Consulting Group underscore her lifelong focus on systemic, purpose-driven change.

The evening continued with a fireside chat exploring Amouyel’s philosophy of purpose and leadership. She discussed how her definition of purpose has deepened over time, shaped by organizations dedicated to large-scale social change. Running a “100% for purpose” business model, she noted, brings both challenges and extraordinary opportunities to prove that mission and market success can coexist.

Conversation turned to the broader 100% for Purpose movement. She described the reactions it has generated and the growing momentum behind companies (including Humanitix, Patagonia, and Mozilla) that align profits entirely with purpose. She emphasized the qualities these leaders share: long-term vision, deep integrity, and a willingness to rethink the fundamentals of capitalism. For alumni interested in joining this movement, she encouraged approaching business strategy with purpose at the center rather than at the margins.

Discussing innovation and impact, Amouyel reflected on how technological and social innovation can help philanthropy become more equitable and effective. She also spoke about her book, The Answer Is You, which argues that everyone has the power to create meaningful change. Her message to leaders and alumni: cultivate intention, curiosity, and resilience to maximize social impact.

The evening celebrated not only an exceptional alumna but also the enduring values of Sciences Po: leadership with purpose, global curiosity, and a commitment to building a more just world.
