Optional sports courses are organised by the Campus Life department at Sciences Po, in association with the Sports Club (Association Sportive).
N.B. To register for sports classes, you are therefore requested to pay, in addition to the cost of each activity in the catalogue, an academic term membership fee of 20€ (payable once per semester).
Registration takes place online, via your Student account.
Each semester, the dates will be announced by Newsletter/e-mail.
Students unable to enrol online (ECTS credit limit exceeded, time conflict with another class, alumnis, those on work placement, etc.) will need to register directly with the Campus Life dept in the Halévy room (56, rue des Saints-Pères) on the specified dates.
Don't delay – some classes fill up very quickly!
How to pay for your classes
To secure your place on your chosen course(s), payment must be made before the end of online registration, either:
- by using the electronic payment system available online via your Student account.
- in person in room H003, preferably by bank card or cheque
For practical reasons, we recommend that you avoid paying in cash.
N.B. Your online registration will be automatically cancelled if payment has not been made by 5pm on the last day of online registration.
To participate in sports classes, you are required to obtain a medical certificate of fitness for your chosen sport(s), as soon as possible after the beginning of the semester.
Once obtained, you can upload your certificate via your Student account or bring it in person to the Sports Club (Association Sportive, lower ground floor, 27, rue Saint-Guillaume).
A free medical service available to students, by appointment only, can be found at:
SIUMPPS, Université Paris Descartes
45, rue des Saints-Pères
Paris, 6th arrondissement
1st floor, Room T145
You can also make an appointment with any general practitioner to obtain your certificate.
N.B. Students who have not provided a medical certificate by the third session could be denied access to the rest of the course.
Enrolment in sports and arts classes will give you a maximum of 2 ECTS credits, regardless of the number of courses you choose to do. At the end of the semester, these courses are marked as pass or fail solely on the basis of attendance: in other words, to validate your course and obtain your 2 credits, you are required to attend a minimum of 10 out of the 12 sessions.
Any absence due to exams or IELTS language tests can be excused, upon presentation of a letter of excuse from your academic advisor, addressed to the Campus Life department (Sports & Arts).
