From its foundation in 1872, Sciences Po established itself in the heart of Paris, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

The Paris campus is centred around the historic site at 27 rue Saint-Guillaume, part of a group of buildings spread around Boulevard Saint-Germain, forming an urban campus of nearly 20,000 square metres where students, academic staff and guest speakers from all over the world come together.

The campus hosts students from the Undergraduate College as well as those enrolled in master’s and doctoral programmes across Sciences Po’s eight Schools

Section #student-life

An urban campus at the heart of a vibrant student life

The Paris campus welcomes around 2,000 students from the Undergraduate College, including many international students on exchange for a semester or a full academic year. This diversity helps create a cosmopolitan academic environment, where perspectives and experiences intersect on a daily basis. To facilitate their settling in, students benefit from accessible housing options near the campus.

Student life is particularly dynamic, supported by more than eighty student associations covering a wide range of activities, including the arts, political debate, civic initiatives, and cultural and humanitarian projects. This rich associative landscape provides a space for collective learning, where students develop organisational skills, the ability to debate, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The many events organised on campus, including conferences and meetings with public officials, researchers and representatives of civil society, further enrich students’ intellectual engagement and commitment. Beyond formal teaching, these exchanges are an integral part of the academic and civic experience offered by the University College.

Section #courses

Studying the social sciences through a multidisciplinary programme

Students at the Paris campus follow the multidisciplinary programme in the humanities and social sciences shared by all students at the University College of Sciences Po.

Taught primarily in French, with some courses in English, this programme introduces the main disciplines that structure a Sciences Po education, including laweconomicshistorypolitical science and sociology.

Courses cover a wide range of topics and methods, including political institutions, the political history of Europe, applied mathematics in the humanities and social sciences, constitutional law, sociology and environmental studies. They provide students with both solid theoretical knowledge and a diverse set of methodological tools for analysing the political, economic and social transformations of the contemporary world.

This approach is complemented by in-depth language learning, with up to sixteen languages offered, as well as numerous workshops and additional courses.

Paris, an exceptional academic and cultural environment

As a political, economic and cultural capital, the City of Paris (FR) offers a particularly stimulating setting for students at the campus. The city provides privileged access to an exceptional intellectual and artistic heritage, as well as to a dense network of public institutions, international organisations, research centres and businesses.

Just a few minutes’ walk from the campus, students can make use of major libraries, attend conferences and public events, or explore the many museums, theatres and performance venues that contribute to the capital’s cultural reputation.

This proximity to the places where major contemporary issues are analysed and debated makes the Paris campus a genuine intellectual laboratory, enabling students to anchor their studies in a concrete experience of the social, political and cultural world around them.
