Banque de France-Sciences Po International conference on the Economics of sovereign debt and default , Dec. 17-18, 2012The Banque de France and Sciences Po will jointly organize a conference on the “Economics of sovereign debt and default”, to be held in Paris on December 17-18, 2012. The aim of the conference is to gather high quality recent research that explores the causes and consequences of sovereign default from three different, complementary perspectives: theoretical and empirical macroeconomics, macrofinance modeling, as well as economic history.

Philippe Weil becomes the new Chair for the CEPR Euro area Business Cycle Dating CommitteeThe Centre for Economic Policy Research has appointed a new chair and new members to its Euro Area Business Cycle Dating Committee. The Committee's mission is to establish the chronology of recessions and expansions of the 11 original euro area member countries plus Greece for 1970-1998, and of the euro area as a whole from 1999 onwards. The new chair is Philippe Weil, President of Observatoire français des conjonctures économiques (OFCE) in Paris, professor at the department of economics at Sciences Po and CEPR Research Fellow. |
