Titulaire du cours:

Enseignement électif 2e année, Collège universitaire, Campus de Paris

This class traces the origins and the history of the Atlantic World from the earliest oceanic explorations in the mid and late fourteenth century to the revolutions of the late eighteenth century. After a preliminary session on the meaning and practice of Atlantic history, we will study both the history of the Atlantic World and its evolving characteristics through the themes of migration, slavery, religion, politics, war and revolution. The purpose of this class is thus to have a better understanding of the old and multi facetted interactions between Europe, Africa, and America.
