Celebrating first year with Incert: Hub welcomes CEO and team

On Monday, March 3, 2025, the PSIA Tech & Global Affairs Innovation Hub welcomed Benoit POLETTI, CEO of Incert, along with Catherine DEREU and Massey LOREK, joined us for a visit marking the first anniversary of our strategic partnership. This meeting provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements and chart the course for future collaboration between the Hub and the Luxembourg public agency that is growing as a leader in digital trust.

A Year of Productive Collaboration

The meeting centered on the substantial progress made in our joint initiatives over the past year. In particular, our collaboration explores the developing governance frameworks around digital identity, first for humans, then for smart devices and autonomous vehicles. The Hub is on the cusp of publishing a comprehensive policy brief on the complex governance relative to Digital Travel Credentials in the air transport ecosystem. This policy brief, ambitioning to bring clarity to the current landscape and establish actionable policy recommendations informed by current research and practice, is meant to set the stage for our ongoing collaborative work.

Looking Forward: Expanding Our Research Agenda

This visit was also an occasion to discuss our plans for future collaboration. Three key areas emerged as priorities for upcoming research and innovation at the crossroad of digital trust and international affairs:

  1. Digital Sovereignty & Trust, bridging the elaboration of legal, strategic, and technological infrastructures to protect national security interests and foster international collaboration.
  2. Digital Identity of Smart Objects, documenting the rising threats coming from the proliferation of smart devices and IoT systems to identify concrete solutions counteracting cybercriminal operations and promoting common security standards.
  3. Advanced Cryptographic Solutions enhancing data security and privacy protections against new forms of cyberthreats facilitated by AI and quantum technologies.

Strengthening the Partnership

This anniversary visit underscores the value both organizations place on our ongoing collaboration. By combining the Hub's academic expertise with Incert's industry leadership, we continue to produce actionable insights to help policymakers, private leaders, civil society experts and academia address together critical challenges at the intersection of technology and global governance.

We look forward to sharing the forthcoming policy brief on Digital Travel Credentials and to another productive year of partnership promoting digital trust across borders.
