The purpose of the fieldwork is to collect empirical and ethnographic material on  mechanisms of global governance of migration. This fieldwork is part of the first working group of the MobGlob project on the multilateral governance of mobility.

« The High-Level Dialogue on International Migration and Development took place on 3 and 4 October 2013 in New York at United Nations Headquarters. In its resolution 63/225 of 19 December 2008, the General Assembly decided to devote a high-level dialogue to international migration and development during its sixty-eighth session in 2013.

The purpose of the High-level Dialogue is to identify concrete measures to strengthen coherence and cooperation at all levels, with a view to enhancing the benefits of international migration for migrants and countries alike and its important links to development, while reducing its negative implications.

Ecuador HLDThe present website serves all stakeholders of the High-level Dialogue, including Member States, civil society and the general public and provides the latest information and knowledge resources related to the High-level Dialogue. »

The MobGlob project and its researchers Hélène and Catherine were registered as a Civil Society Organisation and attended UN events and meetings as well as civil society events and fora. The fieldwork consisted in attending plenary meetings and side events, interviewing participants from International Organisations, States’ delegations and NGOs and following debates among CSOs.
