Evidence informed policy making: practical issues and critical perspectives

This seminar is organised by the LIEPP’s Evaluation of Democracy research group, to mark the visit of the group’s two guest researchers: Thilo Bodenstein (Central European University) and Tomasz Kupiec ( University of Warsaw).

Abstract

While evidence-informed policymaking has come to be regarded as the gold standard for designing successful policies, the concept’s growing prominence has raised a range of challenges that often remain underexplored. This seminar aims to shed light on and open discussion around outstanding questions surrounding the development of evidence-informed policymaking, notably how and which evidence is used, what role it plays in the policymaking process, and how its promoters have shaped policymaking ecosystems.
