WHAT IS THE STUDENT AI SUMMIT ?

Over the course of two days at Sciences Po in Paris, you will simulate a high-stakes European Forum, representing stakeholders like governments, tech giants, and civil society to debate and draft real policy recommendations on AI, misinformation, and digital rights. Experts from CIVICA universities and industry will guide the discussions, enabling you to develop skills in negotiation, public speaking, and policy writing. Your work will contribute to a joint CIVICA Policy Recommendation Paper : the perfect chance to have your voice heard! Students from all disciplines (from politics and law to computer science and communications) are more than welcome to apply, as every perspective is valuable. Together, we can help ensure AI strengthens, not undermines, our democratic values.

Inspired by the High-level expert group on artificial intelligence created by the European Commission that brings together different members of society to recommend policies regarding AI, this summit will mimic how this commission produces policy guidelines. This will allow students to provide new and different insights while learning from experts and fellow students. Embodying different stakeholders will provide a unique learning experience. Key moments of this summit will include round table debates from expertsnetworking and socializing events and most importantly, policy recommendations writing in subject based committees.

This event was made possible thanks to funding from the European Union.
