In this book, Jean d’Aspremont offers the first systematic study of the epistemology of the secret in international law, an intellectual posture that treats international law as replete with secrets to be revealed. He shows how this posture permeates international legal thought and practice and examines its effects on what international law enables, forecloses, and legitimises.
