Sciences Po Law School is recruiting a Professor, Junior Chair / Earth Jurisprudence

The School of Law seeks to enhance its research and teaching in the fields of ecology and climate change by recruiting a scholar whose research addresses the legal framing of ecological questions in the epoch of the Anthropocene. This involves exploring both the role of law as a mode of production of norms and as a mode of governing nature, and the process of transformation, in which law, in view of our new relation to the Earth, has acquired a new ecological imaginary and a new conception of the roles of economy, technology and society. The person appointed will be engaged in research that reconceptualises fundamental legal conceptions, such as person, thing, property or liability, with a view to apprehending the multiple dimensions of the current planetary crisis (for example, climate change, environmental litigation, new modes of mobility or migration, ecological prejudice, land use and planning, rights of nature, extractivism and the appropriation of nature).
