Sciences Po Law School is launching a call for expressions of interest under the Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 programme.
We invite outstanding postdoctoral researchers to submit an expression of interest to be hosted by Sciences Po Law School and to prepare, with our support, an MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowship proposal for the 2026 call. The selected candidates will benefit from scientific and administrative support in preparing their application to the European Commission.
About Sciences Po Law School
Sciences Po Law School is a research unit in law (EA 4461) within Sciences Po. It brings together permanent faculty members, doctoral researchers and postdoctoral researchers around a shared intellectual project focused on examining the role of law in the contemporary world. Its research is characterised by a critical, interdisciplinary, international and comparative approach, with particular attention to major contemporary challenges.
The Law School’s research is structured around three broad areas:
- Legal cultures and legal humanities
- Political economy of law
- Globalisation, crises and transitions
Sciences Po Law School offers a highly stimulating academic environment, with strong international visibility, a sustained programme of seminars and conferences, and close connections with academic and institutional partners in Europe and beyond. The unit is also embedded in broader Sciences Po research networks and has developed strong work on digital and ecological transitions.
Who should apply?
This call is intended for excellent postdoctoral researchers whose projects are ambitious, innovative, and compatible with the scientific orientation of Sciences Po Law School.
Applications are especially encouraged from candidates whose proposed research connects with one or more of the Law School’s main research areas, including critical legal studies, legal theory, legal humanities, political economy of law, digital transformations, ecological transitions, democracy, constitutionalism, global law, and contemporary legal crises and transitions.
What we offer
Selected candidates will receive:
- scientific guidance from a supervisor at Sciences Po Law School
- administrative support for the preparation of the MSCA proposal
- feedback on the research project and proposal structure
- integration into an internationally oriented and interdisciplinary research environment
Application procedure
Candidates wishing to be considered for institutional support by Sciences Po Law School are invited to submit the following documents:
- a letter of intent explaining why they wish to join Sciences Po Law School and indicating the name of the prospective academic supervisor at the Law School, together with confirmation of that person’s agreement in principle
- a CV, including a list of publications
- a research proposal of up to 4 pages, presenting the objectives of the project, its contribution to the state of the art, the methodology, and a short bibliography

Selection process
Applications will be reviewed internally by Sciences Po Law School at the research unit meeting on 21 May 2026.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited to work closely with their prospective supervisor and with the relevant support team in order to prepare the final MSCA proposal for submission to the European Commission.
Indicative timetable
- 9 April 2026: publication of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships 2026 call
- 15 May 2026: deadline for expressions of interest to Sciences Po Law School
- 21 May 2026: internal review by the Law School research unit
- May–September 2026: proposal development with selected candidates
- 9 September 2026: deadline for submission to the European Commission
- February 2027: publication of results by the European Commission
Eligibility
Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility conditions of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships call, including in particular:
- possession of a doctoral degree by the call deadline
- a maximum of 8 years of research experience after the PhD, subject to the exceptions provided in the call documents
- compliance with the relevant mobility rule depending on the type of fellowship applied for
