Call for volunteers - Cross Examination Moot 2026

What is the Cross Examination Moot?

The Cross Examination Moot is a unique competition designed to train students in some of the most challenging and exciting aspects of advocacy.

Based on a challenging case file, students participate in several rounds of hearings during which they cross-examine fact witnesses and expert witnesses, putting their advocacy skills to the test in a realistic and demanding setting.

When & Where?

From 2 to 6 November 2026 in Paris, France.

Why become a volunteer?

Joining the Cross Examination Moot as a volunteer is a great opportunity to:

• Gain first-hand exposure to international arbitration proceedings
• Network with professionals, academics and fellow students from leading institutions
• Develop practical experience in the organisation and running of an international moot
• Contribute to a stimulating and intellectually challenging event

What does the role involve?

1/ Before the Moot – Preparation & Organisation

Volunteers can support the organising team in the preparation of the Moot, including:

• Preparing materials and documents
• Assisting with logistical and organisational tasks
• Communicating with teams, arbitrators and participants
• Supporting the preparation of the different stages of the Moot

2/ During the Moot (2–6 November)

Volunteers will play an essential role in ensuring the smooth running of the competition. On-site responsibilities may include:

• Welcoming and guiding participants
• Assisting arbitrators and teams
• Helping with room organisation and logistics
• Supporting the smooth running of hearings
• Assisting the organising team throughout the event
