Biography

Marcel Morabito passed the agrégation in Law (History of Law: 1983) and also holds a PhD in law (1980). He was an assistant professor at the Université de Toulon and the Université de Montpellier 1 (1982-1983) and, successively, professor at the Université de Bretagne Occidentale (1983-1988), Université de Rennes (1988-1991), the Institut d'études politiques de Rennes (1991-1998) and the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (1998-2000). He has been a professor at Sciences Po since 2006.

Marcel Morabito has been Founder-Director of the Rennes Institut d’études politiques (1991-1999); Chief Education Officer of the Martinique Region (2000-2003) and Chief Education Officer of the Grenoble Region (2004-2005). From 2010 to 2012, he was the President of the Governing Board of the Rennes Institut d’études politiques. From 2006 to 2015, he has served as Senior Advisor to the Technology Research Director of the French Atomic Energy and Renewable Energies Agency (CEA). He is President of the History of Law “Jury d’Agrégation” 2015-2016.

Prof. Morabito is an Officier de la Légion d'honneur, a Commandeur de l'Ordre des palmes académiques and holds an Honoris Causa Doctorate from the University of Bialystok (Poland).
